Thornhill is a pleasant village in the Mid Nithsdale area of Dumfries & Galloway, south of Sanquhar and north of Dumfries. The village sits on the main A76 road and has a population of around 1500.
Thornhill is home to various pubs, hotels, cafes, shops (including a Spar and a Nisa), hairdressers and a large pharmacy.
Thornhill has a primary school and a comprehensive secondary school (Wallace Hall).
